Spring has Sprung

This photo was taken by Leicaman on our morning walk. An unusual view of Texas Bluebonnets, but I love it, probably because of that or maybe because like Daddy Bub….Leicaman loves carrying a camera with him where ever he goes….sometimes two or three. This morning he took photos of the moon…..yesterday it was something different….all while I was still sleeping. He is so lucky that we have dogs to wake him up to get these AWESOME SHOTS!!!!!

I love these colors.I was inspired to paint some trees. I said it was not finished. My teacher and best critic, Tom said “It’s finished” So I said…Good I’m ready to paint something else….Tom and I have been remarking about the gold green color of the Mesquite trees as they are just coming out……I had just the right color in my palette, so I sketched this little tree today for him….
Speaking of Spring…..I just want to say that my Mamacita who gave me my maiden name of Spring….is the most awesome chica that I have ever met and I am soooo proud of her for taking care of herself and staying healthy and strong!!!!! Te amo mucho!!!!!

A Place In Time

Rockin' P Ranch

When our two boys are here in this house, everything is surreal. I could sit and stare at them forever and never be less amazed at the intensity of love. Tom has modified this image to add high definition and saturation and a little bit of mystery to the effect……That’s the way it feels to be a proud mother. Every emotion is magnified a billion times. “You been drinkin'” Christopher laughs at my silliness. Yep, your smile is intoxicating and I am drinkin’ it in. With a face like that you don’t need money, honey…..

Back In The Saddle

Mourning is officially over, for everyone except Pony Boy. He usually just carts around little children and gets rewarded with buckets of carrots and sweet feed, but he was a good sport today. He even put up with lots of hugs and kisses.

49Th Annual Greek Funstival

Last year’s event at St. Sophia’s Greek Orthodox Church was so much fun, we could not wait to go back this year.St. Sophia The children were just as precious and we recognized some of them. Ta Adelfakiaready to dance2 boysI talked to one of the older boys and he told me that they practice every Sunday. You can tell.happy heartsthe starsthe older boysdancersIt was fun just to watch the dancers, but last year I joined in when everyone was invited to participate.  We met a gentleman named Will Beason and he was getting some last minute instruction before he and his friends joined the fun.

I never did catch on, but Will looked great! the amateursTom took lots of photos that we sent to some of the dancing stars.good spotWe loved the music, the musiciansand sampled some of the gourmet cuisine. My favorite was the Spanakopita, spinach with feta cheese and Greek herbs baked in layers of filo. We also tried the Dolmades, rolls of beef, rice and herbs wrapped in grape leaves. We picked up a few souvenirs and look forward to next year.

Welcome to the Ranch

Well, the best way to welcome a stranger is by serving up a home cooked meal, but it’s too hot to cook and I suck as a cook anywayPB&Jbut you can’t go wrong with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and some cold french fries. This is one of Miss Piggy’s favorites, so we thought it would be a hit with our week-end guest, Baconcito.

smilley sandwichHe definitely loved it!

big boy baconHe kind of reminds me of a chubby Labrador Retriever. We actually have a deed restriction that excludes pigs from the neighborhood, but he is a Lab….that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it.

Velvet and Sunrise

Velvet and Sunrise

Velvet and Sunny have been racing around the barn like they’ve never seen a pig, I mean dog before. I’m sure they will be great friends in no time. After all they only have “a few days” to get to know each other!

strutting my stuffBeing that he is such a handsome dude and Miss Piggy is such a cute puppy herself….I have a feeling that if they do have the good fortune to meet, this is what they are gonna see!!!!
