Spring has Sprung

This photo was taken by Leicaman on our morning walk. An unusual view of Texas Bluebonnets, but I love it, probably because of that or maybe because like Daddy Bub….Leicaman loves carrying a camera with him where ever he goes….sometimes two or three. This morning he took photos of the moon…..yesterday it was something different….all while I was still sleeping. He is so lucky that we have dogs to wake him up to get these AWESOME SHOTS!!!!!

I love these colors.I was inspired to paint some trees. I said it was not finished. My teacher and best critic, Tom said “It’s finished” So I said…Good I’m ready to paint something else….Tom and I have been remarking about the gold green color of the Mesquite trees as they are just coming out……I had just the right color in my palette, so I sketched this little tree today for him….
Speaking of Spring…..I just want to say that my Mamacita who gave me my maiden name of Spring….is the most awesome chica that I have ever met and I am soooo proud of her for taking care of herself and staying healthy and strong!!!!! Te amo mucho!!!!!

Go fish

This week-end will remain one of my most precious memories. One of the things that I always consider in good times and in bad is that I should never forget to appreciate and cherish the people that I love. When you miss someone the ache is almost unbearable at times. When you love someone so much that it hurts, there are no words to express the bittersweet intensity of life’s treasures. This week-end brought Tom, Christopher, Annie and I together for a wonderful week-end at the beach. It was supposed to rain. We bought cards. It was sunny and beautiful. We loved having Sky, our biggest baby with us. I still can’t believe that we have her.

Sky

Moye could given her a home like heaven, just like she has for all her other dogs, but she knew that Sky would love being at the ranch herding the sheep and goats and just being a ranch dog. It doesn’t matter where you are and whether there are storms or sunshine when you know that someone loves you, that’s all you need. Deep in my heart is the prayer that the people who are coping with transitions and losses will be lifted up. Daddy Bub would have loved all the cameras clicking this week-end!

Faces IV by Donna Bruni

“Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life”–Picasso

Parchman Stremmel Galleries in San Antonio hosted an opening reception Saturday evening, April 17 for the photography/art exhibit titled Faces IV created by Donna Bruni. Her digital photography is saturated with the vivid hues masterfully recorded during her travels…. notably, the richness of Santa Fe. Her eye for intriguing composition is magnified by her balance of symmetry and character in her subject matter. Donna has been able to capture fleeting moments of a personality that may be hidden from a casual observer. The exhibit will continue until the 30th of April. Parchman Stremmel Galleries is located at 110 W. Olmos in San Antonio, Texas.

A Place In Time

Rockin' P Ranch

When our two boys are here in this house, everything is surreal. I could sit and stare at them forever and never be less amazed at the intensity of love. Tom has modified this image to add high definition and saturation and a little bit of mystery to the effect……That’s the way it feels to be a proud mother. Every emotion is magnified a billion times. “You been drinkin'” Christopher laughs at my silliness. Yep, your smile is intoxicating and I am drinkin’ it in. With a face like that you don’t need money, honey…..

What Are We Going To Do Today?

The possibilities are boundless….”Let’s not tempt me to spend any money” Christopher and I both spoke in unison. Regardless, his choice was to head into San Antonio with time on our hands and amazing CANON digital equipment to accent his gifted and talented genes ……let's go take picturesthanks to Grandmother on my side  and Daddy Bub!!!! Grandson of the master George W. Parish“What do you think, Mom?” Christopher asked. “Where should we go?” GQWe both settled on the newly renovated Pearl Brewery and he shot images that will surely be incredible, while all I could do was focus on the awesomeness of the incredible gene pool that created this beautiful son…

My favorite was the Spanakopita, spinach with feta cheese and Greek herbs baked in layers of filo. We also tried the Dolmades, rolls of beef, rice and herbs wrapped in grape leaves. We picked up a few souvenirs and look forward to next year.

Tom and I could not wait for Peyton and Jordan to pass by. We had a great spot to take pictures, thanks to Peggy and Curtis Holcombe who invited us to share the spot that they have had for the last 20 years!

While the rest of the paparazzi was happily snapping away, I was trying to jump start a dead battery in the big fancy schmansy video camera. Thankfully, Tracy had brought a very handy back up that did the job in spite of my dizzying special effects trying to hold it steady.
