The Wedding

Christopher, Peyton and Tom

The day looked promising for a wonderful outdoor wedding. The wedding party was gorgeous…..The photographer said that Annie was the most beautiful bride she had ever seen.
No one minded the delay, as we waited out a thunderstormPeyton was happy to keep the girls companyA lttle rain could not dampen the radiance of the bride’s beautiful mother…..I was the only one who looked like a drowned rat!The father of the bride is quite a handsome man . You can see a lot of Annie in both of her parents. They are beautiful inside and out. I knew from the beginning that they would always take care of Christopher and he will always take care of them.Being a wedding photographer for many years, I know that there has never been a more perfect match than these two Leica lovers…..

Spring has Sprung

This photo was taken by Leicaman on our morning walk. An unusual view of Texas Bluebonnets, but I love it, probably because of that or maybe because like Daddy Bub….Leicaman loves carrying a camera with him where ever he goes….sometimes two or three. This morning he took photos of the moon…..yesterday it was something different….all while I was still sleeping. He is so lucky that we have dogs to wake him up to get these AWESOME SHOTS!!!!!

I love these colors.I was inspired to paint some trees. I said it was not finished. My teacher and best critic, Tom said “It’s finished” So I said…Good I’m ready to paint something else….Tom and I have been remarking about the gold green color of the Mesquite trees as they are just coming out……I had just the right color in my palette, so I sketched this little tree today for him….
Speaking of Spring…..I just want to say that my Mamacita who gave me my maiden name of Spring….is the most awesome chica that I have ever met and I am soooo proud of her for taking care of herself and staying healthy and strong!!!!! Te amo mucho!!!!!

Dog and Pony Show

git along little doggy

The last time Princess Macaroni came out to the ranch, we gave her a hay ride in the wheel barrow. This time, she was a good sport being herded by Pony Boy…..

Hey Macaroni, that's my name too!

Mini Macaroni gave Princess Mac a little love bite. The ponies know just how much they can get away with without being shipped off to France on a platter.

not by the hair on my chinny chin chin

Mesquite Joe is not so worried about his fate. He was walking a thin line……Cactus Jack just follows along in his hoof prints.

I walk the line

My brother BV has a great shot of Mesquite Joe on flickr as well as many awesome subjects. Click here por favor and add them to your gallery.

Miss Piggy was not interested in being sociable. Bedtime is at 4pm no matter who comes to visit! “Next time, bring a pie or cookies, then we’ll talk” she might have said……

Dog Days of Winter

not sure we want to go......

Tina, Dena, BV, the princess, Macaroni and the Labs, Bear and Lil Yellow came out yesterday for a fun photo shoot. It was overcast and a little chilly, but we warmed up fast.

Lil yeller has second thoughts....

Getting through the gate where the ponies are was a little intimidating.

good bye cruel world....

It took a little while to get over the problem of sticker burrs and piles of fresh manure. Good rolling stuff!

follow me, kids

We took the long way around the field to the tank. Yeller had already had a confrontation with Mesquite Joe and we were not anxious to repeat the trama.

Carry me, Mama!

The princess, Mac had not been here since she was a baby. She is STILL a baby!

I like the view from here, Mac says.

Mac’s little legs got tired and she needed a break.

Ahhhh. This is the life!

By the time we reached the tank, Mac was ready to play

this is what you need to do

A little bossy sometimes…..

Let me tell you a little secret

Mac decided the splashing looked like too much fun!We all documented their every move.

If only I had a Canon

BV took some great macro shots that are posted on flick

We all had to protect our cameras from the splash zone.Yeller could do this all dayBear got tired of being dunked under waterAfter swallowing the brackish water and eating a little horse poop, he took a break to eat some grass

tummy not feel so good

It was all and all, a great adventure and they slept like babies all the way home. We can’t wait to do it again!

A Place In Time

Rockin' P Ranch

When our two boys are here in this house, everything is surreal. I could sit and stare at them forever and never be less amazed at the intensity of love. Tom has modified this image to add high definition and saturation and a little bit of mystery to the effect……That’s the way it feels to be a proud mother. Every emotion is magnified a billion times. “You been drinkin'” Christopher laughs at my silliness. Yep, your smile is intoxicating and I am drinkin’ it in. With a face like that you don’t need money, honey…..

What Are We Going To Do Today?

The possibilities are boundless….”Let’s not tempt me to spend any money” Christopher and I both spoke in unison. Regardless, his choice was to head into San Antonio with time on our hands and amazing CANON digital equipment to accent his gifted and talented genes ……let's go take picturesthanks to Grandmother on my side  and Daddy Bub!!!! Grandson of the master George W. Parish“What do you think, Mom?” Christopher asked. “Where should we go?” GQWe both settled on the newly renovated Pearl Brewery and he shot images that will surely be incredible, while all I could do was focus on the awesomeness of the incredible gene pool that created this beautiful son…

Back In The Saddle

Mourning is officially over, for everyone except Pony Boy. He usually just carts around little children and gets rewarded with buckets of carrots and sweet feed, but he was a good sport today. He even put up with lots of hugs and kisses.

I never did catch on, but Will looked great! the amateursTom took lots of photos that we sent to some of the dancing stars.good spotWe loved the music, the musiciansand sampled some of the gourmet cuisine. My favorite was the Spanakopita, spinach with feta cheese and Greek herbs baked in layers of filo. We also tried the Dolmades, rolls of beef, rice and herbs wrapped in grape leaves. We picked up a few souvenirs and look forward to next year.

Tom and I could not wait for Peyton and Jordan to pass by. We had a great spot to take pictures, thanks to Peggy and Curtis Holcombe who invited us to share the spot that they have had for the last 20 years!

While the rest of the paparazzi was happily snapping away, I was trying to jump start a dead battery in the big fancy schmansy video camera. Thankfully, Tracy had brought a very handy back up that did the job in spite of my dizzying special effects trying to hold it steady.
